USPTO TSDR (Trademark Status and Document Retrieval) connects to Caddi with an API key that you request from the USPTO API Key Manager.
Before you start
You'll need:
A USPTO.gov account. If you don't have one, you can create one when you sign in to the API Key Manager in Step 1.
Owner or Admin access to your Caddi organization
Step 1: Request your API key from the USPTO
Go to the USPTO API Key Manager and sign in with your USPTO.gov account. The USPTO notes this works best in Chrome.
Under Request API keys, open Select an API and choose TSDR (Trademark Search and Data Retrieval) API to download bulk Trademark Data.
Click Request API key. Your key is generated and saved to your account.
Under My API keys, find the TSDR entry, click the eye icon to show the key, and copy it.
Do not send this key by email, chat, or a support ticket. Paste it straight into Caddi in Step 2, or keep it in a password manager until you do.
Step 2: Add the key in Caddi
In Caddi, open Settings, then Integrations.
Under Connectors you can configure, find USPTO TSDR - Custom API Key and click Configure.
Paste the key into API Key.
Click Save Configuration.
For multiple users to setup their API keys, reach out to Caddi support for assistance.
