Karbon Setup

Karbon connects to Caddi with the Application ID and Access Key from an API application in your Karbon settings.

Before you start

You'll need:

  • A Karbon account on the Business or Enterprise plan (Karbon limits API access to these plans)

  • Owner or Admin access to your Caddi organization

Step 1: Get your Application ID and Access Key in Karbon

  1. Sign in to Karbon and open Settings, then Connected Apps, then API Applications.

  2. If your account doesn't have an API application yet, create one on this page. Karbon allows one API application per account, so if one already exists, use it.

  3. Click Manage next to your application.

  4. Copy the Application ID (a 36-character ID that Karbon's developer docs also call the Authorization token) and the Access Key (a long value that starts with eyJ). The two values are not interchangeable, so keep track of which is which.

Do not send the Application ID or Access Key by email, chat, or a support ticket. Paste them straight into Caddi in Step 2, or keep them in a password manager until you do.

Step 2: Add the credentials in Caddi

  1. In Caddi, open Settings, then Integrations.

  2. Under Connectors you can configure, find Karbon - Custom API Application and click Configure.

  3. Paste the Application ID into Application ID.

  4. Paste the Access Key into Access Key.

  5. Click Save Configuration.
