Caddi connects to SurePoint LMS through a service account that SurePoint provisions for your firm. There is no self-service app registration — your SurePoint account manager creates the credentials and you enter them in Caddi.
SurePoint requires a service account for API access. Your firm's SurePoint account manager provisions it; Caddi cannot request it on your behalf.
Before you start
You'll need:
A SurePoint service account for API access, provisioned by SurePoint — contact your SurePoint account manager if you don't have one
Owner or Admin access to your Caddi organization
Your firm's SurePoint sign-in subdomain
Step 1: Request a service account from SurePoint
Contact your SurePoint account manager or client services representative.
Ask them to provision a service account for API access, naming Caddi as the integration.
SurePoint will issue the API username and password for that service account.
Note your firm identifier — the subdomain you sign in with. If you sign in at
acmelaw.rippe.com, your firm name isacmelaw.
Ask SurePoint to send the password through a secure channel, not email.
Step 2: Configure SurePoint in Caddi
This step must be completed by a Caddi organization owner or admin.
In Caddi, open Integrations in the left sidebar, then click the Integration Setup tab at the top of the page. This tab is only visible to organization owners and admins.
Find SurePoint in the list and click Configure.
Enter the following values:
Firm Name — your firm's name as it appears in your SurePoint / LMS+ web address. Enter
acmelawif you sign in atacmelaw.rippe.com.API Username — the service account username SurePoint issued
API Password — the service account password SurePoint issued
Click Save Configuration. Caddi validates the credentials immediately — if something is wrong you'll see an error right away, and nothing is stored until validation passes.
How the connection behaves
One shared identity. Every Caddi user acting on SurePoint does so as the service account. SurePoint-side permissions and audit records reflect that account.
Revoking access. Ask SurePoint to disable the service account, or change its password, to cut Caddi off. Either side can end the connection at any time.
Password changes break the connection. If SurePoint rotates the service account password, update it in Caddi or loops will start failing.
Troubleshooting
Authentication fails on save
Confirm the Firm Name is the subdomain only, without .rippe.com or https://. Then confirm the credentials are for a service account rather than a person's SurePoint login.
Loops that push time entries work, but loops that read them return nothing
This may be a limitation of the SurePoint API rather than a configuration problem. Contact Caddi support so we can confirm what's available on your LMS version.
The connection stops working with no changes on your side
The service account password was likely rotated, or the account was disabled. Check with your SurePoint account manager.
Still stuck? Contact Caddi support with the exact error message you're seeing and the time it occurred.

Law Firms
Meeting or call → time entry
Caddi reads the duration and participants from your calendar or phone system, drafts a compliant billing narrative, and pushes the time entry into LMS against the right client and matter.
Document work → captured time
When a document is drafted or reviewed, Caddi builds the corresponding time entry so billable work isn't lost to end-of-month reconstruction.
Month-end → pre-bill review pack
Caddi assembles unbilled time and expenses by matter into a review pack for the responsible attorney before pre-bills go out.
