Connecting Mailchimp to Caddi with a custom OAuth app

Mailchimp connects to Caddi through an app you register in your own Mailchimp account. You copy the app's Client ID and Client Secret into Caddi.

Before you start

You'll need:

  • A Mailchimp account

  • Owner or Admin access to your Caddi organization

Step 1: Register an app in Mailchimp

  1. Sign in to Mailchimp and open the Registered Apps page.

  2. Click Register An App.

  3. Fill out the Register An App form. For the redirect URI, enter https://app.trycaddi.com/oauth-callback. This is the same URL shown by the Copy redirect URL button on Caddi's Mailchimp Configure form.

  4. Click Create.

  5. Copy the Client ID and Client Secret shown at the bottom of the page.

Mailchimp shows the Client Secret only once. If you lose it, open the app's Edit page in Registered Apps and use Rotate to generate a new one.

Do not send this secret by email, chat, or a support ticket. Paste it straight into Caddi in Step 2, or keep it in a password manager until you do.

Step 2: Configure Mailchimp in Caddi

  1. In Caddi, open Settings, then Integrations.

  2. Under Connectors you can configure, find Mailchimp - Custom OAuth App and click Configure.

  3. Paste the Client ID into Client ID.

  4. Paste the Client Secret into Client Secret.

  5. Click Save Configuration.

Step 3: Confirm the connection

  1. In Caddi, open Integrations in the left sidebar.

  2. Find Mailchimp - Custom OAuth App and click Connect.

  3. Sign in to Mailchimp and approve the request. You'll be returned to Caddi with the connection active.

If you're not going to be an everyday user of Caddi, you can disconnect after confirming the connection works.
