Connecting Wave to Caddi with a custom OAuth app

To connect Wave, you register your own application in the Wave developer portal and give Caddi its Client ID and Client Secret.

Before you start

You'll need:

  • A Wave account. Wave only lets users grant access to businesses that have an active Pro or Wave Advisor subscription.

  • Owner or Admin access to your Caddi organization

Step 1: Create the application in Wave

  1. Log in to your Wave account.

  2. Go to Manage Applications in the Wave developer portal.

  3. Click + Create New Application.

  4. Application Name: Caddi

  5. Redirect URI: enter https://app.trycaddi.com/oauth-callback. This is the same URL shown by the Copy redirect URL button on the Wave Configure form in Caddi.

  6. Save the application, then copy its Client ID and Client Secret.

Do not send this secret by email, chat, or a support ticket. Paste it straight into Caddi in Step 2, or keep it in a password manager until you do.

Step 2: Configure Wave in Caddi

  1. In Caddi, open Settings, then Integrations.

  2. Under Connectors you can configure, find Wave - Custom OAuth App and click Configure.

  3. Client ID: paste the Client ID from your Wave application.

  4. Client Secret: paste the Client Secret from your Wave application.

  5. Click Save Configuration.

Step 3: Confirm the connection

  1. In Caddi, open Integrations in the left sidebar.

  2. Find Wave - Custom OAuth App and click Connect.

  3. Sign in to Wave and approve the request. You'll be returned to Caddi with the connection active.

If you're not going to be an everyday user of Caddi, you can disconnect after confirming the connection works.
