Connecting Typeform to Caddi with a custom OAuth app

Typeform connects to Caddi through an app that you register in your Typeform account. You copy the app's client ID and client secret into Caddi.

Before you start

You'll need:

  • A Typeform account

  • Owner or Admin access to your Caddi organization

Step 1: Copy the redirect URL from Caddi

  1. In Caddi, open Settings, then Integrations.

  2. Under Connectors you can configure, find Typeform and click Configure.

  3. Click Copy redirect URL. It is https://app.trycaddi.com/oauth-callback. Keep this form open; you will come back to it in Step 3.

Step 2: Register an app in Typeform

  1. Sign in at typeform.com.

  2. In the upper-left corner, open the drop-down menu next to your organization name.

  3. Under Organization, click Developer Apps.

  4. Click Register a new app.

  5. App Name: enter Caddi.

  6. App website: enter https://app.trycaddi.com.

  7. Redirect URI(s): paste the redirect URL you copied in Step 1.

  8. Click Register app.

  9. Copy the client secret right away. Typeform shows it only once. If you lose it, open Edit app and click Regenerate client secret.

  10. Copy the client ID. It is shown in the Developer Apps panel.

Do not send this secret by email, chat, or a support ticket. Paste it straight into Caddi in Step 3, or keep it in a password manager until you do.

Step 3: Add the app in Caddi

  1. Go back to the Typeform Configure form in Caddi. If you closed it, open Settings, then Integrations, and under Connectors you can configure, find Typeform and click Configure.

  2. Paste the client ID into Client ID.

  3. Paste the client secret into Client Secret.

  4. Leave OAuth Scopes blank to use Caddi's default scopes. Caddi requests these scopes when you connect: accounts:read forms:read forms:write responses:read images:read images:write workspaces:read workspaces:write offline. offline and accounts:read are required.

  5. Leave API Base URL blank.

  6. Click Save Configuration.

Step 4: Confirm the connection

  1. In Caddi, open Integrations in the left sidebar.

  2. Find Typeform and click Connect.

  3. Sign in to Typeform and approve the request. You'll be returned to Caddi with the connection active.

If you're not going to be an everyday user of Caddi, you can disconnect after confirming the connection works.
