Kit Setup

Connecting your Kit account to Caddi

Kit — formerly ConvertKit — is a Caddi-managed connector built on Caddi's app in the Kit App Store. There is no app to register and nothing for an administrator to configure.

Before you start

You'll need:

  • A Kit account

  • A Caddi account

Kit reserves API keys for a creator's own account and testing, so there is no key to paste anywhere — you connect by signing in.

Step 1: Connect your account

  1. In Caddi, open Settings, then Integrations, and go to the My Connections tab.

  2. Find Kit and click Connect +.

  3. Sign in to Kit.

  4. Review the access Kit lists and approve it.

  5. You'll be returned to Caddi with the connection active.

What Caddi can do in Kit

Caddi requests Kit's read and write permissions, which together cover subscribers, tags, forms, sequences, broadcasts and custom fields.

How the connection behaves

  • One connection per Kit account. The connection is labelled with the Kit account it was authorized in, so it is clear which account a loop is acting in.

  • Tokens renew in the background. Kit refresh tokens are single-use: every renewal returns a replacement and invalidates the one before it.

Troubleshooting

Tagging or updating subscribers fails

The write permission was not granted at sign-in. Disconnect, connect again, and approve the full request.

The connection broke after a long idle period

Kit invalidates a refresh token as soon as it is used, so an interrupted renewal can leave nothing redeemable. Disconnect and connect again.

Caddi is acting on the wrong Kit account

Sign out of Kit in your browser, then disconnect and reconnect in Caddi so you can sign in to the right account.
